CARNIVAL OF CAJAMARCA

The Carnival of Cajamarca is one of the biggest and most important festivals carnival held in Perú. Therefore it is called: "Cajamarca, capital of Peruvian carnival."
























Cajamarca Traditional neighborhoods are organized into patrols and built mostly by young troupes, these patrols through the city dancing; some of the traditional neighborhoods of Cajamarca are San Sebastian, Cumbemayo, La Merced, Dos May, Santa Elena, San Jose and Pueblo Nuevo. 
The music and joy are the tenor of the festivities, plus games with water guns, water balloons and ink. A characteristic element of carnival also constitutes chicha. 

























The "Cilulo", "La Carolina", "Cumbe-Cumbe" and "Matarina" are some traditional compositions Cajamarca Carnival; Traditional dance is also around for "the UNSHA" which is a tree decorated with gifts. King Momo, is the character who presides over the noise of the carnival celebrations in Cajamarca and much of Perú.
